Gardai are planning a major security operation for the Ireland-Portugal match amid reports that the distribution of tickets has descended into chaos.
There are reports that up to 2,000 tickets have made it onto the blackmarket, heightening fears that seats maybe left empty because of security fears.
It appears that despite being allocated 3,000 tickets only several hundred Portugese fans will travel to Dublin, with the remainder of their allocation already ending up in the hands of touts.
The FAI have already discussed the situation with the Gardai.
Under security rules Irish fans are not allowed into the sections of Lansdowne reserved for Portugal.
Privately FAI officials are said to be furious and they are expected to discuss the situation further at talks today.
