Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has offered Croatian international star Milan Rapaic the chance to win a dream move to Parkhead after inviting him to train with them this week.
The 29-year-old attacking midfielder will spend a few days with the champions, starting tomorrow, under the watchful eye of the Northern Irishman.
“We have invited Milan Rapaic to come and train with us over the next few days,” confirmed a Celtic spokesman.
“It will give the manager the chance to have a good look at him.”
Although the transfer window has now closed, Rapaic would be eligible to play for the Glasgow giants in domestic competition because he was recently released by Turkish club Fenerbahce.
However, he would be unavailable for the Hoops’ forthcoming UEFA Cup clash against Stuttgart as he is cup-tied.
Rapaic comes with a good track record. He scored Croatia’s winning goal against Italy in the last World Cup finals and netted 12 goals in the 2000-01 season when Fenerbahce won the Turkish championship.
He spent the first five years of his senior career at Hadjuk Split before moving to Italian club Perugia for four years.
