Soccer: Germany gain comfortable victory

Germany 4-2 USA

Germany 4-2 USA

Germany got an early scare as Clint Mathis scored an 18th minute goal for the USA in their international friendly tonight.

However, Ziege calmed German hearts as he scored an equaliser a minute before the interval.

Three quick goals for Germany just after the hour virtually killed the game off as Neuville, Bierhoff and Torsten Frings put the Germans in control.

Mathis scored a consolation goal with twenty minutes to go, but Germany held on for a comfortable win.
