Sylvester Kirk’s stable star Elhamri heads the list of 40 juveniles confirmed at the five-day stage for Saturday’s totepool Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar.
The son of Noverre was last seen in action when fifth behind Wi Dud at the beginning of the month, having earlier underlined his credentials with victories in the Windsor Castle Stakes and Weatherbys Super Sprint.
Other interesting possibles include the Michael Bell-trained Hoh Mike, who finished two places ahead of Elhamri when the pair met in the Flying Childers last time, and Alan Swinbank’s Stevie Gee.
The latter is already proven in Listed company, having completed his hat-trick in gutsy fashion in the Ripon Champion Two-Yrs-Old Trophy at the end of August.
Among the handlers who look sure to be well-represented is Brian Meehan.
The Manton maestro has already plundered a big pot with Doctor Brown at the St Leger meeting, and he will be able to choose his representatives from Fish Called Johnny, Jack Oliver, Scented Present and Greyt Big Stuff in this richly-endowed sprint.
