Several thousand workers gathered in Brussels today to protest over rising prices.

Around 5,000 trade unionists staged a rally to demand lower electricity, fuel and food prices.

Traffic was blocked during the protest and public transport in regions around the capital was disrupted.

The rally followed similar protests around Belgium.
