Derek O’Brien returned to haunt St Pat’s as relegation favourites Galway stunned their ex-boss Jeff Kenna at Richmond Park.

O’Brien, who returned to Terryland Park in the close season after an injury-plagued 2008 at Saints, put Galway in front after 17 minutes.

It got worse for St Pat’s four minutes into the second half when Vinny Faherty doubled Galway’s lead.

O’Brien then sealed the points three minutes later with his second of the night.
