A bus taking students home from their night classed at a Brazilian university plummeted down a 160 foot cliff, killing at least 20 people and injuring 21 others.

The accident occurred last night near Rifaina, 280 miles north of Sao Paulo.

Sao Paulo State Highway Police said the bus fell off the cliff after the driver apparently lost control as he approached what local residents call the ‘‘curve of death.’’
