Court to decide on lifting of Drogs examinership

Drogheda United will find out later today whether the High Court will allow it to emerge from examinership.

Drogheda United will find out later today whether the High Court will allow it to emerge from examinership.

In October, the court approved the appointment of Kieran McCarthy as examiner to the club, protecting it from its creditors.

A scheme of arrangement put together by Mr McCarthy was submitted to Ms Justice Finlay Geoghan last week and the club now wants the examinership lifted.

The court heard supporters raised €500,000 to rescue the club.
