The body of a newborn baby was found at a railway station in Britain today.

The body of a newborn baby was found at a railway station in Britain today.

Police said the infant was discovered at Fleet station in north Hampshire by a cleaner at 11.30pm.

A spokesman said an investigation has been launched to find out how the body came to be at the station. Inquiries are also being made to find the mother and officers urged her to come forward.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen something at the station to contact them.
