The number of casualties in a bombing in Kashmir has risen.

The number of casualties in a bombing in Kashmir has risen.

Two people have been killed and at least 17 injured in an explosion in the disputed Himalayan province of Kashmir.

The blast was caused by a rigged motor scooter which was planted in the province’s summer capital, Srinigar.

India blamed Pakistan for the attack, but the Pakistani authorities denied the accusations.

Two hours later, gunmen fired three rifle grenades at an Indian army post a few hundred yards from the site of the blast.

The explosion came as the Indian parliament discussed possible attacks on Pakistan in retaliation for an attack on an Indian army base in Kashmir on Tuesday, which left 33 people dead.
