A tourist bus crashed last night in South Korea, killing 17 passengers and injuring 14 others.

Police said the bus was carrying 31 people – all South Koreans aged in their 70s and 80s – when it veered off a mountainous road and rolled 20 metres down a hill in Gyeongju, about 280 kilometres (174 miles) south-east of Seoul.

Officials say police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
