EU ministers gather for more talks on Greek bailout funds

Eurozone finance ministers will gather in Brussels today for more talks on whether to give Greece access to more bailout cash.

The tranche of €7.2bn is the final part of the country's second programme of financial assistance.

The Syriza-led government in Athens has been at the centre of tensions with the EU and IMF, over a programme of reforms to be implemented in exchange for the cash.

It is reported that sources there fear that the so-called 'Grexit' could be looming large if no agreement is reached by July or August.

It has already been taken for granted that Greece will need a third bailout, likely to be around €50bn.

So, if they cannot agree on getting the €7.2bn in this tranche in the next several months, it is hard to see another third bailout of €50bn.
