The three British National Hunt meetings scheduled for tomorrow were all called off after inspections this morning.
Sandown, Musselburgh and Uttoxeter have all fallen foul of the frozen conditions, leaving just all-weather action at Lingfield and Southwell.
‘‘We had a much sharper frost than was anticipated last night,’’ explained Sandown clerk of the course Andrew Cooper.
His Musselburgh counterpart Bill Farnsworth said: ‘‘It’s still frozen. It’s forecast to only get to +3C or +4C today so it’s not going to move very quickly. It will start to thaw but it’s impossible to see it happening quickly enough.’’
Uttoxeter’s John Pullin said: ‘‘Temperatures got down to -7C last night which was our sixth consecutive night of frost.’’
There has been no racing on turf in Britain this week because of the frost.
