Australian singer Kylie Minogue empathises with the way Britney Spears is being treated by the media - but she warns critics to write off the Toxic beauty at their peril.

It took the Can't Get You Out Of My Head chart-topper years to successfully break away from her bubble gum pop beginnings and she can't imagine Spears sinking into obscurity either.

The 36-year-old says: "I wouldn't take her out of the game yet. I feel for her because I've been through exactly what she's going through, where you've been so successful, suddenly you're not as successful, and people think doomed to failure.

"She's a force. Whatever she does, people will take notice."
