Breen strike puts Galway top of the table

Gary Breen hit the winner as relegation favourites Galway made it two wins on the spin to sit pretty atop the Premier Division table.

On a bad night for Dundalk, it began to go wrong on 73 mintues when they had Simon Kelly sent off for a foul on Derek O'Brien.

Breen latched onto Sean Kelly’s flicked from a Jay O’Shea cross to blast home the only goal of the game on 82 minutes as Dundalk slumped to a second defeat.

Galway might have scored earlier, but the woodwork saved Dundalk as Vinny Faherty’s 54th minute header came back off Chris Bennion’s crossbar.
