No approach from Real - Eriksson

Sven-Goran Eriksson today insisted he had not been approached by Real Madrid to take over as their new coach.

The England head coach has been linked with the Spanish giants after Jose Antonio Camacho quit yesterday and despite former assistant coach Mariano Garcia Remon being appointed by Real.

Eriksson did not specifically rule himself out but he said at a UEFA national coaches meeting in Stockholm today: “I do not know anything about it. I have not talked to anyone from that club. I have a contract and that’s it.

“I think they have a new coach don’t they? So it’s not a matter to discuss. I haven’t had any approaches from anyone,” he told the BBC's Radio Five Live.
