A few classy touches by Maurice Fitzgerald inspired a late Kerry rally and the home side took full points in this national football league, Div 1A game at Killarney.

However, the Kerrymen struggled for much of the game and had Donegal taken all their chances, especially in the first half, the end result could have been very different.

In the first half, Donegal were the better side and they led at half-time by 0-6 to 0-4.

On the restart, Kerry took the initiative and were on level terms after three minutes but Donegal soon regained control.

It was Maurice Fitzgerald who regained the lead for Kerry with a point in the 59th minute and it was all Kerry from there on.
