At the request of the Offaly County Board, the GAA's Leinster Council has tonight decided to postpone the Leinster Under-21 hurling final between Offaly and Kilkenny which had been due to take place this Wednesday in O'Connor Park, Tullamore.
Offaly chiefs were angered after the Under-21 decider had been fixed for midweek, in between two All-Ireland senior hurling qualifiers involving Offaly.
Eight of the Faithfuls' Under-21 side were involved in last Saturday's 10-point senior victory over Limerick, with Joe Dooley's charges set to face Waterford this coming weekend.
The Under 21 final has now been refixed for Thursday week, July 24, following the agreement of the Offaly and Kilkenny County Boards and the Leinster Council.
