Norwich have signed Sunderland striker Chris Brown on a two-and-a-half-year deal for £325,000 (€489,000).

Brown, 22, has become the second striker to leave the Black Cats following the sale of Jon Stead to Premiership side Sheffield United and is set to make his debut against Plymouth at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Manager Peter Grant told the club’s official website, www.canaries.co.uk: “Chris is a big lad with great technical ability. It is rare to get the combination and he will offer us something different. He has great experience, but also great potential.”

Brown said: “I am delighted to be coming to such a good club with an ambitious manager. It’s a great platform for me and I will do my utmost to get Norwich promoted to the Premier League.”
