Police spokesman Lieutenant Thomas Stacho said 50-year-old Anthony Sowell was arrested about noon today in his inner-city neighbourhood in Cleveland, Ohio.

He said charges are pending.

Lt Stacho said officers have found three bodies and believe they have discovered three more but are awaiting confirmation from the coroner.
