Two dogs today attacked and killed a six-year-old Albanian girl on the Greek island of Kithnos, police said.

Two dogs today attacked and killed a six-year-old Albanian girl on the Greek island of Kithnos, police said.

The attack took place at dawn when the girl and her father were walking in the Aegean Sea island’s central town which is 90 kilometres (56 miles) south-east of Athens.

According to police, the little girl was playing a few steps behind her father when two wolfhounds attacked her. She died at the scene, police said. Her name was released.

Police captured the dogs, which were wearing collars, and are searching for their owner.
