RTÉ unveil tribute to Gerry Ryan

A plaque in memory of Gerry Ryan was unveiled today at the RTÉ radio centre.

The special tile is placed outside the offices is inscribed with the DJ’s famous phrase ‘”The Ryan Line is open”.

Gerry was a mainstay DJ on RTÉ radio since the ‘70s and began his much-loved radio show, The Gerry Ryan Show in March 1988.

The Ryan family was present at the unveiling on Thursday, whilst his friends and colleagues took time this morning to say a few words.

Gerry Ryan passed away on April 30, 2010.
