Bush calls on US companies to simplify financial reporting

George Bush says US corporations need to improve their financial reporting by making it easier to understand and more comprehensive.

George Bush says US corporations need to improve their financial reporting by making it easier to understand and more comprehensive.

"I too am concerned about the language of Wall Street not being clear so that the average investor can understand what is going on," he said.

"There needs to be better disclosure so that people feel confident that they are not being led down a primrose path of fancy financial footwork," he said.

Mr Bush is also optimistic about the US economic outlook.

The President noted that the US economy has experienced three consecutive quarters of positive economic growth after three quarters of negative growth.

"The trend is in the right direction," Mr Bush said.
