Irishman Michael Kelly comfortably outpointed Algerian Allahou Mohamed 17-7 to set up an intriguing light-welterweight clash with Danny Happe at the World Amateur Boxing championships in Belfast.

Irishman Michael Kelly comfortably outpointed Algerian Allahou Mohamed 17-7 to set up an intriguing light-welterweight clash with Danny Happe at the World Amateur Boxing championships in Belfast.

Happe came from 4-1 down to outpoint Germany’s Ali Alraoui, a world bronze medallist two years ago, 10-7 and meets Kelly for a place in the last eight.

Irish welter Jim Moore enjoyed a 14-11 win over Lithuanian Darius Jasevicius and now faces Italian Lenord Bundu.
