Irish racing driver Michael Keohane finished a creditable twelfth in today’s seventh round of the FIA

Formula 3000 Championship at Silverstone.

Staring from the seventh row of the grid the 23-year-old Cork driver picked up two places.

Lap by lap, Swede, Bjorn Wirdheim extended his lead and went on to take the chequered flag ahead of Giorgio Pantana and Vitantonio Liuzzi.

Keohane held his position over the remaining laps to take 12th.
