A woman who discovered through a TV programme that she had a treatable blood disorder after years of doctors not recognising her symptoms is raffling her home to raise awareness of the condition.
Doreen McLaren spent eight years being told by GPs and neurologists that they had no answer for her migraines, dizzy spells and memory loss and at least one even suggested that it was all in her mind.
However, last Autumn her life changed when she saw a patient with the same symptoms being diagnosed with Hughes Syndrome on TV documentary City Hospital.
