Dress To Thrill, a homebred Grade One winner for Walter Haefner’s Moyglare Stud Farm, has been retired after disappointing in the Matriarch Stakes at Hollywood Park last month.
She was only 12th in the Grade One event over nine furlongs which she won last year when trained in Ireland by Dermot Weld.
“She had a very exciting career and it was time to take the next step and turn to her broodmare career,” Christophe Clement, who handled the four-year-old daughter of Danehill this season, told thoroughbredtimes.com.
She will return to Moyglare Stud in Ireland to be mated with Sadler’s Wells.
As well as winning the Matriarch, the filly captured three other Group races over a mile in 2002 – the Group Two Sun Chariot Stakes and the Desmond Stakes and Matron Stakes, both Group Three.
She won seven of her 14 races.
