The new name for Dell Computer Corp is to be Dell Inc. The company is to drop the word Computer as the company now sells far more than just computers.
In a filing it made to the US Securities and Exchange Commission it said: “While Dell began as supplier of personal computers, our capabilities now reach deeply into the enterprise and we are a leading seller of servers, storage systems and other technology products and services”.
In the filing Dell also said that it paid Michael Dell a bonus of $2.48m (€3.5m) in 2003 based on the attainment of revenue and profit goals.
