FAI officials are seeking an urgent meeting with the Government to discuss the future of the Eircom Park project.

Minister for Sport, Jim McDaid, has said the project may be put on the long finger in the current economic climate and this has caused concern in sporting circles.

FAI Chief Executive, Brendan Menton, a long-time supporter of the project, is seeking talks with the Taoiseach.

The Government is currently awaiting an expert review of the project however.
