The French Football Federation tonight announced they will attempt to impose a playing ban on Nicolas Anelka.

The French Football Federation tonight announced they will attempt to impose a playing ban on Nicolas Anelka.

The Manchester City striker declined a late call-up from France boss Jacques Santini to play against Yugoslavia on Wednesday after injury ruled out Lyon’s Sidney Govou yesterday.

The FFF have responded by beginning proceedings with FIFA and their own disciplinary committee which could see Anelka miss City’s next two games.
