Padraig Harrington is one ahead of the field going into the final round of the Madrid Open.
The Dubliner fired a rollercoaster third round 66 yesterday to lead Dane Steen Tinning and Australian Adam Scott at 16 under-par.
But not only is Harrington in pole position to win the tournament but he is five clear of Retief Goosen in the race to top of the European Order of Merit.
On a Club de Campo course which has already witnessed two of Harrington's five tour victories, the 31-year-old is well on course to make it six tour wins.
After running up a bogey six on the 536-yard 14th, he trailed Scott by three. But while he rolled in 25-foot birdie putts at the 16th and 17th, 22-year-old Scott bogeyed the last two.
Those mistakes dropped the Adelaide golfer alongside Tinning, who equalled the lowest round of his tour career with nine birdies in his 62.
