Henry Candy has nominated the Coral Sprint Trophy at Newmarket on May 24 as the next port of call for his up-and-coming sprinter Corrybrough.
The son of Candy’s Nunthorpe winner Kyllachy raced twice as a juvenile last term and burst on the scene this spring with a deeply impressive two-length call at Sandown last month.
Candy said: “He was a little ring-rusty that day. The leaders went off at a ridiculous pace and he was taken off his feet early on before showing a professional turn of foot.
“He is almost 17 hands high already and we will take it gradually with him this year, as next year will be his year.
“He will go to Newmarket in three weeks’ time for the Coral Sprint, which isn’t impossible from his current mark of 98.
“He will graduate into Listed company before taking in smarter races later in the year, and he could go for one of the big races in the autumn.”
