Aguero return among four changes as Man City take aim at Arsenal fortress

Arsenal and Manchester City have the chance to close the gap on Christmas table-toppers Leicester tonight.

Sergio Aguero will lead the line for City, returning from a heel injury to replace Wilfried Bony. Kevin De Bruyne and Fabian Delph come into midfield in place of Jesus Navas and Raheem Sterling, who are named among the substitutes.

Vincent Kompany remains absent in defence but Aleksandar Kolarov takes over at left-back from Gael Clichy.

Arsene Wenger has selected an unchanged side from the Gunners’ 2-0 victory at Villa Park, as Alexis Sanchez remains out due to a hamstring problem.

A win for Arsenal would narrow the gap at the top to two points, while also putting them four points clear of City, who could close to within three points with a win of their own.

A draw would guarantee Leicester a four-point buffer entering the Stephen’s Day fixtures.

Kick-off is at 8pm in the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal are undefeated in the League since the opening day of the season.

Arsenal: Cech, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Flamini, Ramsey, Walcott, Ozil, Campbell, Giroud.

Subs: Gibbs, Gabriel, Ospina, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Chambers, Iwobi, Reine-Adelaide.

Man City: Hart, Sagna, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Toure, Delph, Silva, Aguero, De Bruyne.

Subs: Sterling, Caballero, Bony, Jesus Navas, Clichy, Demichelis, Iheanacho.

Referee: Andre Marriner (West Midlands).
