Street mum Sarah's life in balance after crash

Coronation Street teenage mum Sarah Platt’s life will be left hanging in the balance after an horrific joyride smash.

Coronation Street teenage mum Sarah Platt’s life will be left hanging in the balance after an horrific joyride smash.

She will be seen lying in the wreckage as tearaway Ade Critchley loses control - and lines himself up as a possible victim for Corrie killer Richard Hillman.

The terrifying scenes will be screened in October in a double-bill of the show which recently regained its crown as the nation’s most watched soap.

Sarah (played by Tina O’Brien) has put herself in a vulnerable situation by letting her infatuation with Ade override her common sense.

She agrees to go for a high-speed trip in the car he has stolen from Ken Barlow but she panics when he refuses to slow down.

As she claws at the door to get out, he takes his eyes off the road and veers out of control with the car spinning on to its roof and slamming under a parked lorry.

Ade (Dean Ashton) struggles free and is left to wrestle with his conscience over whether he should help her or flee the scene to save his own skin.

A Street spokeswoman said: “Viewers will be gripped by these dramatic scenes and whether the teenage mum will survive the crash or leave Bethany motherless.

“With Sarah’s life hanging in the balance, Ade’s actions line him up as yet another possible victim for Richard Hillman’s next killing.

“Street murderer Hillman, Sarah’s new stepfather, has proved he’s prepared to kill to protect his family and Ade’s behaviour gives Richard a possible motive.

“Richard will strike again later this year in an unmissable storyline.”
