British fraud squad arrest two men

Two airline employees have been arrested and released on bail by fraud squad officers over the alleged theft of £1.8m, it has emerged today.

Two airline employees have been arrested and released on bail by fraud squad officers over the alleged theft of £1.8m, it has emerged today.

Officers from the fraud squad entered the offices of Brymon Airways at Plymouth Airport, yesterday accompanied by airline security staff and lawyers.

Two male employees of the company, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways, were arrested in relation to theft of £1.8m from their employers.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Constabulary said the arrests were made following searches of various locations in Devon and Somerset.

Both men were taken to Charles Cross Police Station in Plymouth for questioning.

They have since been released on bail pending further inquiries into the theft allegations.
