Johnny Murtagh will miss the Budweiser Irish Derby meeting at the Curragh next week after being slapped with a five-day ban by stewards at Ascot.

He has been penalised for irresponsible riding in the Coventry stakes on Tuesday.

Yesterday, Frankie Detorri steered Fantastic Light to victory for the Godolphin stable in the big race of the day – the £145,000 Prince of Wales Stakes.

It was the first segment of a treble, while Aidan O’Brien’s Mozart was on song as Mick Kinane piloted the 7/4 favourite home to claim the Jersey Stakes.
