Poor old S-M, just can’t settle down to domestic bliss with squeeze MJ. Just as he’s about to land his dream job as a reporter on the Daily Bugle, the flying, spinning hero learns that an escaped con might just know something about his late uncle Ben.
And so it’s back to the heart-stopping gymnastics through the skyscrapers.
For dedicated fans of the spider man (played with his usual bemused charm by Maguire) and the sexy squeeze (Dunst) it’s what they have come to love and expect.
There’s lots of high-flying action, though the downside comes in an overly-busy plot that simply tries to pack too much in.
When a series is as successful as this there’s not a lot you can say about it. However much it disappoints the critics the fans will lap it up.
