British Touring Car champion Matt Neal scored his first win of the season at Mondello Park.

British Touring Car champion Matt Neal scored his first win of the season at Mondello Park.

The Team Halfords driver started from pole position in his Honda and converted that to maximum points, setting a lap record for the Irish track on the way.

He was under pressure from Jason Plato but the Seat driver could not find a way past and finished half a second behind.

James Thompson retained his championship lead with third place, giving Seat two drivers on the podium.

The North's Colin Turkington was fourth in an MG while Gordon Sheddon’s Honda and Tom Chilton’s Vauxhall completed the top six in fifth and sixth respectively.
