Two flatmates have put a "haunted" mirror up for sale after having nothing but bad luck since they rescued it from a skip.

Painter Sotiris Charalambous, 34, and student Joseph Birch, 20, took the antique from a dumpster outside their flat in Muswell Hill, north London, five months ago, and since then Sotiris has woken up with "stabbing pains" in the night and Joseph has seen "glimpses of black darkness" in the mirror.

Sotiris said: "I think someone could have been murdered in front of the mirror and that's why it has been haunting our house.

"I don't think it the mirror likes it since I painted it silver. I took it to an antique dealer who said it was worth £100 once and that's why we're asking for the price, but we would ideally like it to go to someone who has experience of the paranormal."

The pair also revealed how the radiator below the mirror stopped working for no apparent reason and the pipes started rattling in their flat.

The mirror has been placed up for sale on online auction website eBay.
