An explosion went off this evening in a shopping centre in a Jewish settlement in the West Bank, and paramedics said at least one person was killed and 11 were wounded, including five seriously.
The blast went off shortly before 8pm (1800 Irish time) in the Karnei Shomron settlement, about 40 kilometres (24 miles) northeast of Tel Aviv.
Israel TV’s Channel 1 said the shopping centre was poorly guarded, despite warnings about plans by Palestinian militants to carry out bomb attacks.
Israel TV’s Channel 1 said the explosion went off in a pizza restaurant in the centre.
