Number of vacant properties halves in Dublin
There has been a dramatic decrease in the number of new homes lying vacant in Dublin.
According to property experts Savills Ireland, the figure has dropped from 11,000 in March last year to 5,400 today.
The decrease in empty properties is being attributed to a thriving rental market, as sales in the greater Dublin area have "virtually dried up" in recent months, according to the survey.
