Drogheda narrowed the gap on leaders St Patrick's Athletic to two points with this rousing win at the Brandywell.

Paul Doolin's side got their reward for being the better side throughout the first half with what proved the only goal on 33 minutes.

Eamon Zayed and Sami Ristila had caused Derry problems from the start and they duly combined to create the winner.

Zayed, who'd hit a post on 14 minutes, put Ristila in on goal and the Finn shot past Patrick Jennings.
