Turkish police have detained Osama bin Laden’s brother for questioning.

Turkish police have detained Osama bin Laden’s brother for questioning.

Abdullah bin Laden was travelling from Saudi Arabia to Cyprus and was detained while changing planes in Istanbul, said, Turkish Interior Minister Rustu Kazim Yucelen.

Abdullah bin Laden is studying in the Turkish part of Cyprus, Yucelen added.

No other details were available and it was not clear why the brother was being questioned.

Osama bin Laden is estranged from his family and from Saudi Arabia, which revoked his citizenship in the early 1990s after he was caught smuggling weapons from Yemen.
