Fontwell call Christmas check
Fontwell have called an 11am inspection for Christmas Day ahead of their St Stephen's Day meeting.
The track is covered and while they are fit to race at present, clerk of the course Ed Arkell will assess conditions tomorrow in light of a cold forecast.
"At the moment we are perfectly raceable under the covers and it only got down to -1.5C last night which is really good news," he said.
"It is a sunny day here today and is forecast to get up to 3C, which compared to recent days is fantastic, and then we are forecast a low of -4C overnight.
"Christmas Day is due to be around 0C with possible overnight temperatures of -5C or -6C so we have called an inspection for tomorrow.
"It would be silly not to have a look really and it's important to keep everyone in touch with what's going on."
