Chris Coleman insists Fulham will not be overawed by tomorrow’s clash with Real Madrid.
Fulham meet the Spanish giants at the ATV Arena, Irdning, in the second match of their pre-season tour to Austria.
And having registered victories over Luton and Maccabi Petah Tikva already in the last week, Coleman insists his players’ confidence is high.
“It’s a great game for us and we’re all looking forward to it because they’ve got some world class players,” he said.
“It’s a good test for us but our boys are looking great. We’re very confident with this group of players, they’ve been playing some great stuff. Real will pose us more problems but it’s something we’ll have to cope with.”
New signing Franck Queudrue should feature in Fulham’s starting line-up after completing his transfer – for a fee believed to be £2m (€2.9m) – from Middlesbrough last night.
Frenchman Queudrue will provide Fulham with experience at full-back in the wake of the club’s failure to make Wayne Bridge’s loan spell at Craven Cottage permanent.
“Franck is a quality defender and one that I have admired for some time,” Coleman told the club’s official website, www.fulhamfc.com.
“He is a gifted player with great skill, and I know that he will make a difference to our back line.”
Queudrue becomes Fulham’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrival of Jimmy Bullard, Gabriel Zakuani and Bjorn Runstrom.
