Britain’s main political parties are united in their determination to tackle terrorism, Conservative leader Michael Howard insisted today.
Mr Howard was speaking in Downing Street following talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
During their discussions, they discussed strategies for combating terrorism in the aftermath of the London bomb attacks.
Flanked by shadow home secretary David Davis, Mr Howard said after the talks: “There’s a great desire at a time when the country faces such great danger to work together.
“We are all in this together and we all believe it is very important to show that the country is united in its response to the danger we face.
“And we hope that it will be possible to reach agreement on further measures that will enable us to deal with this threat more effectively.”
