Suspect 'holding child hostage'
Police officers have gathered around a home in Indiana where a man suspected of killing a bus passenger earlier in the day is holding a child hostage.
The suspect is holed up in a Fort Wayne house near the street where a woman was pulled off a bus and fatally shot earlier today, police spokeswoman Raquel Foster told The Journal Gazette.
She said he is holding a three-year-old child hostage.
The relationship between the suspect, the victim and the child was not immediately known.
Police confirmed the hostage situation about five hours after a man pulled a woman off a city bus in crowded traffic at about 8am (noon GMT) and fatally shot her about 25 feet away before fleeing into the surrounding neighbourhood.
