American Mark O’Meara led Irishman Paul McGinley by one with nine holes to play in the Dubai Desert Classic today.
Tied for top spot overnight the pair were still locked together after eight holes, but then McGinley pulled his second into the water on the next and bogeyed.
Out in 33, 47-year-old former Open and Masters champion O’Meara was 16 under and McGinley 15 under, with Tiger Woods and David Howell two further back after both eagled the long 10th.
