An investigation was under way today into the death of a motorcyclist who drove off a 300ft cliff.

The body of the man, who has not been named but is believed to be aged between 17 and 20, was found floating in the sea off Dover, England last night.

His motorbike had been found an hour earlier on the beach below the chalk cliff at South Foreland.

It is not yet known whether the death was a suicide attempt or an accident.

A French tourist saw the man go over the cliff at 4pm yesterday and raised the alarm, sparking a major air and sea search.
