Julian Thick has been appointed Charles Barnett’s successor as managing director at Aintree.
Thick was originally part of the Aintree team in an operational capacity in 1992 and has since worked at Kempton, overseeing the development of the new all-weather track, and Sandown.
Chairman of Aintree Lord Daresbury said: “I am delighted that Julian has accepted the role of Aintree managing director.
“It is totally fitting that someone trained by Charles Barnett at Aintree should return to take on his role.
“It will be a hard act to follow, but I am confident that Aintree will continue to flourish as Julian builds on Charles’ considerable achievements.”
